Cash and Carrie Dragon Quest VIII

Cash and Carrie are twin brother and sister, but were adopted by Mr. Golding who owned the Casino in Baccarat long ago due to unknown circumstances.  Mr. Golding spoiled both Cash and Carrie thus making them a bit more than just a bit spoiled. To many people in Baccarat they come off as snobbish brats, but they dare not say anything about them in respect of Mr. Golding who is the exact opposite.  He tries to steer them in the right direction, but doesn't quite see it.  Mr. Golding is also one of the heirs of the Great Seven Sages and trains both of his children with weapons as well as the best academia money can buy; but as the saying goes, you can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.  These two learned a limited amount of knowledge and instead pursued indulgences. 

Tragedy befalls these two children when their father is murdered, no evidence is around but whispers of a strange jester.  The scene is found by the maid who is deeply disturbed by it, Cash and Carry are in total disbelief and put word out for a reward for any information about the jester who put a sleep spell on them and murdered their father.  For a few days Cash and Carry mourn his passing, but not long after turn on each other with even more sibling rivalry that usual on who is going to inherit their father's fortune.  Fear grips the town with numerous rumors and suddenly two small child-like jesters are seen pulling pranks across town off and on. Complaints are made as the hired hands of the Golding family have a hard time catching these evasive jesters.

The Hero and his companions are kept away from the mansion the first time they come through the town, but the second time, the little jesters have become quite bothersome.  When you meet up with them they tell the hero two things.  The problem with the jesters and the contest.  The problem in town comes first, after you accept to help them a mob of people in front of Cash and Carry's mansion.  Depending on which one you talk to after they state the problem will determine which sibling will accompany you as a 5th party member to find the 2 small jesters. Neither will be very useful in the fight as they will only be at level 20 with no skills but simple attacks.  Yangus asks if it is possible these small jesters are responsible for their death, and they will respond similarly saying yes, and they would at least like a small part in their demise.

After defeating these Demon Seed bosses you do the contest, but on the way back you camp out and Angelo and Jessica each take Cash and Carrie out to train them for a short while. Each will gain 5 levels from this training and each will gain two skills.

Cash will learn - Flaming sword and Falcon Strike.

Carry will learn - Dragon Lash and Lashes of Love.

You will have an opportunity to train them in the dragon graveyard one time but once you leave the grave yard more than a few steps way, you automatically get them saying it's time to return --and you automatically return to Baccarat.  When you return however, you find Baccarat in total chaos as you hear rumors of an evil looking destructive jester attacking people. Dhoulmagus comes to mind to everyone but they find it odd Dhoulmagus would linger there.  They quickly find out the two jesters have transformed into an ugly monstrous demonic jester and needs to be defeated once and for all.  Depending on who helped you fight the first battle, the other will help with this one.
